Enterprise Leader
This is a description of an inspiring leader who holds a position of influence in a for-profit or non-profit organization, a non-governmental organization, a social enterprise, a registered charity, or a foundation. She showcases exceptional leadership qualities and has a strong, positive impact on her surroundings. Her vision and leadership have a far-reaching influence on the organization's finances, organizational strategy, productivity, staff motivation, business development, customer/client care, and leadership. She is driving innovation in her industry, making significant contributions to the community, or making a substantial difference in her field.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for consideration for the Businesswoman of the Year, individuals must:
- Live and work within fifty-five (55) kilometers radius of Ottawa Centre
- Self-identify as a woman
- The individual is a non-controlling shareholder and/or not majority owner of the corporation/business. Applicants who qualify in the Entrepreneur Leader category should not apply to the Enterprise category.
The criteria used to assess nominees in the Enterprise Leader category are business acumen, leadership, mentorship and community involvement, biography, and overall presentation.

Selection Committee
The Businesswoman of the Year Awards selects reputable members of the Ottawa business community to assess nominees. The Selection Committee members play an important role in selecting the recipient by applying a weighted point system that ensures fairness and consistency.
